
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1She is an American actress, producer and performer, most well-known for her portrayal of Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). She received the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting actress in an Drama Series in 2014. Also, she was a star in Fox's Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young started her career as an actress in the theater. Young made her Broadway debut on stage in 1997 when she played Mary in the original ensemble. [8][9] She has also played off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Musical Merrily We're Rolling Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). 3][10] She made her debut on TV in 1995, when she played The Dr. Courtney Evans, in an ongoing role in the NBC soap show Another World. In 1997 and 1998 she played two guest roles on Law & Order. In 1999 she made her debut in film with one small part in the crime drama Black and White and later joined the cast of several independent movies. In the mid 2000s she began to be seen on a variety of drama and comedy shows, such as The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Between 2000 and in 2011, Young had more than 30 guest appearances on TV shows.
