Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. She is the fourth Roberts generation to reside in Atlanta starting with her farmer great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts. At an early age, her father was interested in theatre. While he was a pupil at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he took part in many productions. When he was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he was inducted into the Air Force in the year 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was in that production as well. They got married in 1955. Their first son, Eric Anthony, was born in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after he left the Airforce in 1957. Walter worked with Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and relocated to Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show that was aimed at children, named Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project that they funded themselves. They founded an Actors and Writers Workshop in the year 1964, and it lasted six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa, was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
